Sentora: Paving the Way for Institutional DeFi
A New Chapter for IntoTheBlock and Trident Digital
Today marks a big moment for IntoTheBlock (ITB) as we’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you. We’ve successfully merged with Trident Digital and secured a $25 million Series A funding round. This achievement propels us forward in our mission to drive institutional adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) and brings together two pioneering teams under a brand new name: Sentora.
Our Vision for Sentora
Sentora is born from the shared vision between ITB and Trident — a vision that believes DeFi must evolve to fulfill the complex needs of institutional finance, expanding beyond the standard crypto crowd. Institutions demand infrastructure, risk management, and financial products that rival traditional markets in sophistication. Sentora is here to fulfill those demands head-on.
Complementary Approaches
Trident and ITB have approached the challenge of institutional DeFi from different angles, yet with complementary expertise:
- Trident Digital has been on the forefront of developing top-tier structured products and controlled investment vehicles, driving successful stablecoin initiatives for industry giants like PayPal and Ripple.
- IntoTheBlock has focused on creating a powerful infrastructure layer, executing over 300 quantitative strategies and utilizing greater than 1,000 risk models across 60+ DeFi protocols and 16 blockchains. Our Smart Yields platform is trusted by top-tier institutions, and our risk monitoring tools are widely adopted throughout the DeFi space.
The Power of Unity
Both corporations have achieved considerable success individually. By joining forces, we aim to deliver a comprehensive, institutional-grade DeFi platform. The mix of Trident’s product innovation and regulatory insights with ITB’s data and risk infrastructure provides a strong foundation for advancing institutional engagement with DeFi.
Bridging the Gap
DeFi has emerged as a parallel economic system, introducing groundbreaking concepts like programmable lending and automatic market making. However, traditional financial institutions have been slow to embrace these innovations. The rapid growth of ecosystems and protocols has only widened the gap between DeFi’s potential and its practical usability.
Building a Strong Institutional Layer
To establish DeFi as a reputable pillar of world finance, we want to construct institutional capabilities from scratch. This involves developing sophisticated yield strategies, robust risk management, enhanced security practices, and completely recent financial instruments like insurance, collateralized lending, and compliance-ready infrastructure. Sentora is committed to creating this much-needed institutional layer.
Our Mission
Sentora’s mission is to develop a unified institutional layer for DeFi, empowering a various range of participants, from crypto-native DAOs to traditional asset managers and financial institutions. Our platform will offer products that mix financial sophistication with technical resilience.
Looking Ahead
The first phase of our vision is already in motion. In the approaching weeks, we are going to announce recent partnerships with leading DeFi protocols, centralized exchanges, custody providers, and choose traditional finance institutions. These collaborations mark the initial steps toward constructing a really integrated institutional DeFi platform.
The Road Ahead
We’re excited in regards to the future. Sentora is greater than just a brand new name — it’s a commitment to shaping the longer term of decentralized finance by providing the tools, infrastructure, and trust that institutions need.
We invite you to hitch us on this journey to make DeFi ready for institutional adoption.
