Understanding CyBall: The NFT Blockchain Game
CyBall is an innovative NFT-based blockchain game currently operating on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and will soon be available on the Solana network. The game requires players, referred to as decentralized autonomous users (DAUs), to own at least three CyBlocs to engage in matches. These matches take place on a Soccer-like battlefield against other players. Players are rewarded with experience and other incentives when they win. For those who thrive on teamwork, tournaments offer an opportunity to collaborate for significant prizes. CyBall aims to attract more DAUs by offering a free-to-play and play-to-earn model, potentially providing financial benefits and crypto education through gameplay rewards.
CyBlocs: The Heart of CyBall
CyBlocs are the essential NFT characters in CyBall, categorized into five rarity classes: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Legendary. These classes influence the initial skill set and growth potential of each CyBloc.
CyBloc Traits
Each CyBloc can inherit or be mentored to acquire traits, which are critical in determining their potential to win matches. A CyBloc can have one to three traits, classified as common, rare, or super rare. Notably, there are 50 traits available as per their official whitepaper.
For instance, a Team Player (common) trait boosts all skills by +4 during Tandem events, while Front Runner (rare) enhances skills by +6 if leading at half-time. A National Superstar (super rare) trait offers a 50% chance of boosting all skills by +12 per match.
CyBlocs possess six footballing skills: Tackling, Passing, Dribbling, Crossing, Shooting, and Physical. Each skill can be upgraded upon gaining 100 experience points.
Every CyBloc is also assigned a nationality, adding another layer of uniqueness to each character.
Exploring CyBall’s Gameplay
CyBall offers several gameplay modes. For PVP enthusiasts, users can either casually play in Exhibitions or compete in Leagues and Tournaments. In-game rewards include CyBloc Battery Token (CBT) and CyBall Token (CYB), which serve as utility and governance tokens, respectively.
In Training mode, players engage in 3v3 battles against a computer to earn experience points. Additionally, players can enroll their CyBlocs in the Hire-a-Coach program, allowing them to gain experience passively for a CBT fee.
Users receive 60 energy units daily, resetting at 8:00 AM Manila Time. Each match subtracts energy equivalent to the number of CyBlocs used. Thus, a team of three CyBlocs can participate in up to 20 matches a day.
Understanding CyBall’s Economy
The CyBall economy revolves around three currencies: Cybloc Battery Token (CBT), Batteries, and CyBall Token (CYB). CBTs, earned in PVP matches, are used for mentoring (breeding) and hiring coaches. Batteries, also earned in PVP, can be converted to CBT at a 1:1 ratio.
The governance token, CYB, is awarded in Leagues and Tournaments and can be staked by users. It is also utilized for breeding activities.
Additional Features
The CyBall NFT marketplace facilitates the buying and selling of NFT game assets such as CyBlocs, CyPods, Stadiums, and CyBloc body parts and wearables.
CyLoans is an automated feature that allows users to lend extra CyBlocs to others who may not afford to purchase their team but wish to play and earn. The owner sets the duration for which a scholar can use the CyBlocs. This feature has been available since February 28.
CyDex is CyBall’s decentralized exchange (DEX), enabling users to trade CBT and CYB tokens.
