Snoop Dogg’s NFT Triumph: A Fresh Beat within the Digital Space
Snoop Dogg’s NFT Sale Breaks Records
In a surprising twist that defied naysayers, American rapper Snoop Dogg managed to sell nearly one million non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in only half-hour on Telegram. This unexpected success challenges the notion that the NFT market is on its last legs.
A Collection Inspired by Snoop’s Iconic Style
Snoop Dogg’s latest digital collection, featuring roughly 996,000 NFTs powered by the TON blockchain, is a testament to his enduring influence. Described as being “inspired by Snoop’s iconic style,” the gathering raked in a whopping $12 million. Telegram founder Pavel Durov shared this news on X, adding that the blockchain minting and secondary marketplace for these NFTs will kick off in 21 days, promising an exciting future for collectors.
What’s Inside the Collection?
The NFTs offer a various array of digital goodies starting from vintage cars and swag bags to a digital dog and marijuana-themed items. Telegram Gifts, as they’re called, are animated images that users can flaunt on their profiles or convert into the platform’s in-app currency, Stars.
Snoop’s New Track Adds to the Hype
Not just stopping at NFTs, Snoop Dogg released a track titled “Gifts” alongside a music video that highlights all of the collectibles. Fans on social media and YouTube have hailed the collaboration with Telegram as “legendary,” viewing the rapid sellout as a positive sign for NFTs, which have faced declining volumes and sales this yr.
Current State of the NFT Market
To put things in perspective, Cointelegraph reported a 61% drop in NFT volumes throughout the first quarter of 2025, all the way down to $1.5 billion from $4.1 billion the previous yr. In the past 30 days, sales have continued to fall, with a 41% decline to over $403 million, in accordance with CryptoSlam data, together with a 55% drop in transactions.
Could Snoop’s Success Spark an NFT Revival?
An X user referred to as Zenith, who leads NFTs at TON, noted that Telegram Gifts have been around for some time, with the primary collection, “Plush Pepe,” launching in January. They speculated that Snoop Dogg’s collection might ignite a brand new wave of interest in NFTs, although this stays uncertain.
Zenith also identified the unique utility of Telegram Gifts, which might be displayed on user profiles. They mused about the potential for seeing other brands or Web3 IPs launching similar collections, though only time will tell.
Snoop’s Longstanding Role within the NFT World
Snoop Dogg is not any stranger to NFTs, having been energetic within the space because it gained mainstream traction in 2021. In June 2023, he introduced the Snoop Dogg Passport Series, offering NFT holders access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Earlier, in February 2022, he launched the Doggies NFT collection in collaboration with The Sandbox metaverse.
